| Love All of You
Being around patriots is the very best of company. Had a great time with everyone tonight, and was especially pleased to share our table with Jim Logan and his generous wife Carla. Really good people...
Thank you Rene Poe and Don Poe for their invitation. And got to chat with and get to know several people, among whom was Mike Olcott and his wife.
Thankfully, many of those in attendance the plan and took brochures and buttons. |
| Christmas Lights
Patti and I went to go see Dickinson's Christmas Lights display in its park. We just took a slightly different way to get there than everyone else.
We have the best time doing everything together :)... |
| Beauty, Eh?
Here in Dickinson, it's in the mid 70's. Back in Iowa, it's 30. While I do love the shorts weather, I sometimes miss the beauty of winter in its strong contrasts.
I took this picture from my cell phone about five years ago. I was driving by a copse of woods and had to pull over to take it.... |
| Strengths I see a lot of people take personality tests online. I only recommend one: strengths finder. "People succeed when they focus on what they do best. When they identify their talents and develop them into strengths, people are more productive, perform better, and are more engaged."
I believe that it's worth $10 to find your top five and consider how to employ those in pursuit of recapturing your freedom.
For what it's worth, mine are:
- Learner ("You love to learn.") - Strategic ("Enables you to sort through the clutter and find the best route.") - Input ("You are inqui... |

| Political Dinner in Texas
Tonight, Patti and I had dinner with three good people: Russell DePoy, and Chris Streeper and his wife Vauna.
During dinner at Spring Creek Barbeque, we discussed how to get people locally to work together - regardless of party - toward securing more liberty for the people in our communities.
I live in Dickinson, which has a population of about 20,000. I guarantee - if throughout my community I take a message door-to-door of "Le... |
| My Agenda Someone wondered what my agenda is, so...
I'm completely for representative government that doesn't allow the government to control people or take from people. I am for the smallest government possible while securing our freedom to live at peace in our communities.
If a representative in office ignores the people, I'm totally for replacing that person with someone who aims to truly represent. I don't care if the replacement comes in the primary or in the general.
The Republican party talks a big game of liberty and smaller government, but the facts put the lie to that. I w... |
| Autumn
I love Texas, but I do miss the change of color in the fall.
Here are some favorite pics of mine that I took in the past.... |
| Politics is a Sliver of Life
My FB is all about politics and political solutions, but that's actually a minor facet of my life. Most of the time, I'm cutting up with Patti, working on web sites for clients, riding my bike (how many of you have called and found me out on a ride?), talking with friends and family, or reading and being creative.
This picture helps explain why politics is just a sliver :)... |
| Always Beautiful
Today was, as always, a great day with beautiful Patti.... |
| As You Were If you take the time to listen to this video and skip to 4:48, it begins the most happy song called "As You Were." The whole thing is worth a listen, but it's that second half that captures the immense joy of my life these days.
If you like celtic-flavored music, you'll enjoy this.

| Passive Observers All You've heard the phrase, "The revolution will be televised," right?
Well folks, the revolution is being televised, and you're watching it unfold. How's that reality TV going for you?... |
| Stir Up Trouble I'm looking for some people to stir up trouble, so this might interest you.
93% of the media is not Republican. For this reason, the natural discouragement that takes place in the Democrat party is never highlighted, but we read stories all of the time about the "civil war" in the Republican party over sometimes the smallest of differences.
It's a clever and very subtle way to reduce the Republican election turnout. It's also one-sided, and I'm all about hitting back twice as hard, as our illustrious president instructed his people to do.
Natural divides in the Democrat pa... |
| Go Ahead and Jump Shared with me by my step-dad:
One day, a very gentle Texas lady was driving across a high bridge in Austin. As she neared the top of the bridge, she noticed a young man fixin' to jump. She stopped her car, rolled down the window and said, "Please don't jump! Think of your dear mother and father." He replied, "My mom and dad are both dead. I'm going to jump." She said, "Well, think of your sweet wife and precious children."
He replied, "I'm not married, and I don't have any kids." She said, "Well, then you just remember the Alamo." |

Texas is such a beautiful state. This taken on highway 70 en route to San Angelo.... |
| Can You Hear Me Now? I like Verizon. I do. I was even in a commercial video for them once that appeared on news outlets around the country.
That said, I really want to take the "Can you hear me now" guy with me as I travel across Texas. He'd have some work to do. (And maybe he could split the driving with me...)... |
